The joy of making Music…
We make music from the very first contact with the teacher. The lessons are always at the piano, seeking the pleasure of playing the instrument.
Nos Bobos maintains an unique teaching practice, supported by psychoanalysis, free education, and nonviolent communication.
Piano lessons take place in Brussels (Schaerbeek) and online, in Portuguese, French, English, and Spanish.
Three Fundamental Principles
1. Solid knowledge in music
We offer to the students a highly specialized and up-to-date education, guided by seriousness, consistency, and the pleasure of making music.
2. Qualified human relationships
We cultivate the singularity of each student and the responsible creativity. Our pedagogical model is supported by Psychoanalysis, Free Education, and Nonviolent Communication.
3. Study and concentration techniques
We aim not only to train and teach but also to cultivate technical and theoretical tools to promote autonomy, musical quality, and creative responsibility.
Ages and Methodology
Piano lessons are specifically designed for each age, according to the pleasures of each stage of life. We also observe the singularity of each student, their goals, and their abilities.
The Teacher
Gilson Beck is the piano teacher and has experience in both in-person and online teaching since 2006. His lessons emphasize technical, aesthetic, and didactic care, with a keen focus on human relationships.
A pianist and composer, he holds a Master’s degree in Music from the University of Évora. He has been awarded the “Funarte Classical Composition Prize” by the National Arts Foundation (Funarte – Brazil) three consecutive times.
He studies Psychoanalysis at the École de la Cause Freudienne (Brussels, Belgium) and at the Antena do Campo Freudiano (Lisbon, Portugal).

Singular Fees

At Nos Bobos, we adopt a new, flexible, and serious approach to pricing. The monthly fee is determined together with each student (or their parents), taking into account age, needs, and financial possibilities.
The payment of the monthly fee reflects the student’s involvement and interest in the lessons, it supports the learning process, and it also contributes to the maintenance of the classes.
The main criteria for choosing a teacher should be the seriousness of the methodology, the affinity with the teacher, the rigor of the teaching, and the pleasure of playing. We see money as a facilitator of learning and believe it should not be the main deciding factor for chosing a teacher.
Get in touch with us! Together, we can find a fair amount that enables the lessons and that is sustainable for both parts.
5 Learning Moments
The perfect combination for each student’s desires and goals.
Our piano classes includes five learning moments, which are combined to meet each student’s desires and goals.
Students can choose which moments they want to participate in. The teacher assists and guides this selection, creating a course that aligns with each student’s aspirations in the most convenient, productive, intense, and profound way.
Ages and Methodology
For the singularity of each age
We are always attentive to the particular characteristics of each stage of life and the singularity of each student. That is why we have developed a methodology for the piano lessons that considers the characteristics of each age, the student’s goals, and the pleasures of each phase of life.
By choice, in addition to in-person classes, we use online teaching to enhance learning, autonomy, and student responsibility.

Piano for Little Beings
From 3 to 5 years old
This is the stage of musical discovery: exploring the piano and building a repertoire of songs.
Little ones take lessons alongside an adult (parent, grandparent, aunt, or uncle). This way, the class becomes a moment of affectionate exchange between parents and children, with music serving as a bridge for connection and communication between the adult and the child.
With its seriously playful approach, piano lessons can be designed for one or two little beings learners simultaneously.
Piano for Kids
From 6 to 10 years old
The stage of piano production: learning songs and performing them in concerts.
Lessons cover technical, aesthetic, and artistic aspects. At the same time, music theory concepts are introduced to support musical understanding.
Children can take lessons independently, while parents supervise their daily development.

Piano for Teens
From 11 to 17 years old
The stage of discoveries and explorations: building independence and autonomy.
The goal of the lessons is to play music that the student enjoys while exploring new pieces. The development of a repertoire aims to connect individual musical production with others. In other words, the student can present their work in concerts.
We address technical, aesthetic, and artistic aspects through challenges and the principles of gamification.
Thus, music theory is built through the systematization of the challenges, serving to facilitate learning and musical practice.
Piano for Adults
From the age of 18
A phase of focused study combined with the pleasure of playing the piano.
The goal is to learn music that aligns with the student’s personal taste while exploring new pieces. The intention is to develop a repertoire for concert performances and to put individual musical production in relation with others.
Lessons include technical, aesthetic, and artistic aspects. Music theory is built through the systematization of practice, aiming to facilitate learning.
